Appointments

 Where: Zoom or at your local campus

Length of Session: 45 minutes 

What to Bring: Your assignment and ALL instructions pertaining to that assignment

• You should schedule your appointments 24 hours in advance.
• Each tutoring session is held for a maximum of 45 minutes. 
• You may schedule a maximum of three appointments in the same week.
• You may NOT schedule more than one tutoring appointment in the same day.
• For in-person tutoring sessions, it is your responsibility to book an appointment at the correct campus location.
• All appointments are set to Pacific Standard Time (PST). If you are in a different time zone, it's your responsibility to determine the appointment time in your location. 

If a student does not show up to their tutoring appointment or fails to cancel their tutoring appointment less than 24 hours in advance of their appointment time, the student will be given a warning from the Writing Center.  The second time a student does not show up for their tutoring appointment or fails to cancel their tutoring appointment less than 24 hours in advance of their appointment time, they will lose Writing Center privileges, including tutoring services, for one month. Additionally, if a student is more than 15 minutes late, the student forfeits their appointment.

• Please come prepared to your tutoring sessions. Bring your assignments with specific questions. 
• The Writing Center focuses on higher order writing concerns such as content, structure, organization, etc. While we do offer instruction for sentence level concerns like grammar, we do not provide editing or proofreading services. 
• If the tutor agrees that grammar instruction should be addressed  in the session, the tutor will point out consistent errors, and instruct you on the grammar rules. You are then responsible for applying that instruction on your own when you revise your paper.
